The 2007
Firebird Series
In the Presence of Women
New research points a finger
not at the “glass ceiling” but at women themselves as a critical
factor in derailing and sabotaging the success of other women in
the workplace. This workshop, for women only, explores the
complex and evolutionary communication methods and power styles
women use to engage in the world of work.
To be successful, to achieve
our full potential as women in the business world, we must
understand and learn to apply the unique ways that women
connect, collaborate and share power. We will not succeed in
the business world using the rules and social codes of the male
handbook. As women, we have our own history with its own codes,
norms and protocol – it’s time we honor it. This highly
interactive workshop explores new success factors for
businesswomen and provides time for honoring matriarchy. Most
importantly, we come to a deeper understanding of why, to be
truly successful in business, we must stop forcing ourselves
into the wingtip shoes of patriarchy.
This is the first workshop in
a new series of three:
Part II:
In the
Presence of Women and Daughters
Part III:
In the
Presence of Women – When You’re a Man!

Mirror,
Mirror
“I
hold up the mirror and what do I see?
Usually…just me.”
How we perceive ourselves -
our strengths, weaknesses, preferences, traits and
characteristics – is “set” by the time we’re adults. Most of us
are so sure about “who we are” that we assume others sees us as
we see ourselves.
Most of the time –
self-perception is incorrect.
Every now and then, we need
to hold up a mirror and take a candid self-examination. We need
to ask not only, “Who am I?” but “How does the world perceive
me?” These two critical questions often generate surprising
answers.
We help you clarify these
questions “with the bark off” to uncover a new, more accurate
reflection in the mirror. It’s a journey of insight, inspiration
and profound personal growth.

Improv C3 - Creating the Extreme
Team
Connect. Collaborate. Conciliate.
Unshared knowledge is lost knowledge and lost knowledge is wasted
capital. In today’s global economy, collaboration is key, an absolute necessity
to the flow and capture of knowledge between individuals and groups. But before
collaboration comes connection, the sharing of stories, the dissolution of barriers,
which allows us to accept and become vested in the ideas of others. When individuals
connect, they prepare to meet challenges collectively. When individuals connect,
they recognize the value of idea-generation over idea-geography. When individuals
connect, they reach across disciplines, they reach across countries, they reach
across continents to share knowledge…to collaborate.
This collaboration – this sharing of knowledge - brings about consilience,
the unity of all knowledge. In study after study of organizational effectiveness,
the single dimension that matters most is the human element and how workers interact
with one another in teams. Successful businesses depend upon teams who can connect,
collaborate and conciliate in a knowledge driven economy.
The practice of improvisation hones the very skills that help break
down barriers so workers can connect. Improvisation provides the perfect road for
today’s work force to travel in learning to become flexible, adaptable, able and
willing to see situations from several perspectives. Business professionals will
use improvisational techniques to retrieve their own creativity, helping them to
recognize the unexpected as opportunity.

The Science of LearningPrints
Alvin Toffler called it
future shock – and warned us to prepare for the “end of
permanence”. Welcome to the future, where we ride a tsunami of
information fueled by technology we never imagined. We’re challenged
to Learn, Unlearn and Relearn at relentless speed.
Half of everything you know today will be obsolete in 540
days...when it will be time to Learn, Unlearn and Relearn again.
Luckily for us, we humans are
adaptive. But our educational system didn’t teach us HOW each of
us learns best, forcing us to learn via the preferences
of
others, sub-optimizing our ability to Learn, Unlearn and
Relearn.
In this workshop, you’ll
discover how to stop this “learning hijack” and reclaim your
ability to “acquire knowledge or skill by study, instruction or
experience” – what works best for you – and then to use that
ability to Learn, Unlearn and Relearn that is so vital to success in
business today.
Discover how to leverage your
individual “Learning Print” – a print as unique as your
fingerprint. Own it for lifelong learning.
